Bowling Tips & Ball Maintenance
4 Keys to Remember
The keys to good bowling are solid basic fundamentals, a proper grip, a bowling ball that matches your style of bowling and proper ball maintenance.
Basic Fundamentals
- Stance
- Push away
- Arm swing
- Footwork
- Release
Proper Grip: A proper grip allows the bowler a consistant release that is vital to being able to hit your mark each time. An improper grip can cause blistering, soreness to the hand, elbow, in some cases shoulders, and bad ball reaction. Your grip should be checked every two years as our hands change over the years.
Bowling Balls are not created equal. Each manufacturer designs bowling balls to meet specific bowler types and lane conditions. That is why it essential that the pro shop operator must know how you bowl. We, at Your Bowling Connection, will watch you bowl and compile your DNA (ball speed, rev rate, axis tilt, axis rotation, and positive axis point), then apply this information into selecting the proper bowling ball, along with the correct layout to ensure the customer’s desired ball reaction.
